Our story
Three kinds of experience shaped LodgeOS: running a resort day to day, building technology for independent properties, and helping those properties grow. Together, they inspired a simpler way to operate, with more freedom to focus on what matters most.
Why we built it
Brian Putnam owns and runs Kohl’s Resort in Bemidji, Minnesota. For more than five years, he managed the property using a booking system and a collection of tools that never quite worked together: one for texting guests, another for payments, another for pricing, another for the books.
Every tool did its job. The trouble lived in between. Reports that didn’t match. Group invoices that needed workarounds. A login for everything. Important knowledge that walked out the door when an employee left, and a long learning curve for every new hire.
“Everyone’s creating these silos.”
The problem was never a lack of software. It was the work of holding disconnected systems together. And too often, that responsibility fell on the owner.
What we believe
Most systems ask a property to adapt to them. We think it should go the other way. LodgeOS is one connected system built around how each property actually runs: its policies, its rhythm, the way it talks to guests.
Porter, the AI assistant inside LodgeOS, learns those details and supports the way your team works. You stay in control. The system simply carries more of the weight.
The people and the place
Operations, technology, and growth. Each of us saw the same problem from a different side.

Our technology lead has spent 16 years building technology for independent resorts. It began with a northern Minnesota lodge that couldn’t be found online, and grew into tools that help properties get discovered and operate more effectively.
Sales & Marketing
Amy has 15 years in sales and marketing for independent resorts, helping properties get found, generate bookings, and grow revenue. At LodgeOS, she helps owners see what’s possible for their property, starting with the very first conversation.
The place · Kohl’s Resort
Bemidji, Minnesota
LodgeOS is built and put to work at Kohl’s, in real resort operations. When something isn’t working at the front desk, we hear about it and can make improvements based on firsthand experience.
The bigger vision
Better systems create room. Room for guests, for family, for growing the business, and for the moments that made you want to run a place like this in the first place.
That’s what guides how we build LodgeOS. We draw from real resort operations, respect the way each property works, and create technology that feels like support rather than another system to manage.

Because the goal isn’t just to run a better operation. It’s to have more freedom to enjoy everything you’ve built.
