Gap-night calculator

What do the nights between your bookings cost?

A gap night is an empty night stuck between two stays: too short for anyone to book, and easy to miss on a grid. Tell us about your season and we’ll show you roughly how many you have, and what they’re worth.

How this is worked out
  • It’s a simulation, not your bookings. We build 300 made-up seasons from your answers and show the middle one, plus the range most of them fall in.
  • A gap night is 1 to 3 empty nights between two stays on the same cabin. That’s the rule LodgeOS uses on your real calendar.
  • How often the next guest arrives the day the last one leaves, and how long the gaps between stays run, come from a real Minnesota lake resort’s 2026 summer calendar. Your answers set how long stays are and how full the season is.
  • Empty nights at the start and end of the season aren’t counted. They aren’t between two bookings.
  • The dollar figure is those nights at your average rate. You won’t fill every one; it’s what they’re worth, not a promise.
  • Real calendars cluster around weekends and holidays, and minimum-stay rules make gaps more common. Your real number can be higher or lower.
